What kind of housing options are there for travel nurses? Will Cross Country provide me housing, or do I need to find it on my own?

What kind of housing options are there for travel nurses?

Ask Hank

This is a really great question. It’s also a very valid question - we all want to know where we are going to sleep and live.

Please allow me to eliminate any of your fears in this area. Here at Cross Country we have a whole division of professionals devoted to your needs when it comes to housing. They are experts at securing housing accommodations during your assignment. Let’s review your options:

  1. We can secure housing for you during your assignment period. Typically, it is a one-bedroom, furnished apartment. We want you to bring those items that make it feel like home, so you are comfortable in your space. You will also need to bring things like dishes, kitchen items, toiletries, linen/bedding and whatever else you need to make it look and feel like home.

  2. You may choose to keep the stipend and secure your own housing. Maybe you are going to a location where a family member or friend lives, and you will be staying with them. If that is the case, then the stipend amount will be going to you.

  3. Another option for some today is to stay in their RV and secure a location to park the RV during their assignment. Again, the stipend will be going to you. You will pay to park your RV and enjoy the comforts of your own space with familiar surroundings.

Finally, I want to say that our goal is to make you comfortable and we will work with you to meet your needs, so you are successful at your location. If you have special needs, please communicate those needs to your recruiter so we may assist you.

I look forward to more questions from our nurses.  Our goal is to make you successful.  Please submit your questions here.   Remember: no question is out of order - send them all my way!

Always remember the words of Florence Nightingale: “I attribute my success to this - I never gave or took any excuse.”
