I am very excited that you asked this question! Nurses with advanced training and education respond and provide interventions quicker, which results in better outcomes for our patients. As nurses this is always our desire and goal!
So, where do we start the education advancement journey? Today, many nurses are looking at online courses for BSN and MSN programs. There are many programs available to you in various locations. And if you prefer the traditional route of in-classroom courses or maybe even a mix of both, all varieties are available to you as you advance your education and training.
Cross Country has partnerships with many universities that offer tuition discounts to our nurses. The list is posted on our website or you may reach out to your recruiter for more information. I am also pleased to share with you that Cross Country offers tuition reimbursement assistance to our nurses who work full time with us. Once again, your recruiter can assist you with obtaining the forms and completing the necessary paperwork.
Advancing your degree is important for your future success. In nursing we never stop learning and advancing as the various best practices change and improve. It is vitally important for you to be up to date and current on the latest best practices within nursing as well as within the specialty in which you are practicing. So, learning and education will always be a part of nursing to ensure we are providing the best possible care to our patients at all times and in all environments of care.
Finally, I might suggest you speak with your fellow nurses and ask them what program worked the best for them and investigate why that program was a success for them. Then determine which program best fits your personal needs and lifestyle.
Good luck and know we are here to help you be successful in any way we can!
I look forward to more questions from our nurses. Our goal is to make you successful. Please submit your questions here. Remember: no question is out of order - send them all my way!
Always remember the words of Florence Nightingale: “I attribute my success to this - I never gave or took any excuse.”
